Summary
A peace treaty requires that a child born from the union between the two kingdoms be placed on the throne of Adalberas. Eleanor (18), princess of the defeated nation, is sent to marry Sylvius (39), the king of the victorious Adalberas. Pitied by those around her for the vast age gap, Eleanor arrives with some trepidation. To her surprise, she finds Sylvius to be a wonderful, handsome older gentleman. She begins to look forward to a happy marriage, but Sylvius, determined not to “overstep” with someone so much younger, keeps a careful distance.
